Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into a treatment center following an arrest for driving under the influence (DUI), which occurred in early March in California.

She was stopped by police after being reported to be driving dangerously, moving erratically across lanes, speeding, braking erratically and even with one taillight out.


Spears was arrested around 3:00 a.m. and released within a few hours.

According to reports, after this incident she has taken steps to improve her personal situation, staying sober and attending AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings.

Her representatives described the incident as 'unacceptable', but stressed that the singer is determined to face the legal consequences and pursue the right path to rehabilitation.

They also said that family and loved ones are working to create a sustainable plan for her future well-being and stability.

She is expected to appear in court on May 4.

In her personal life, Spears has two sons, Preston and Jayden, from her marriage to Kevin Federline.

Her relationship with them has been strained in recent years, although they reportedly reconciled over the past year. /Telegraph/
