Eric Abidal was a guest on the show "Ma part d'ombre" broadcast on Canal +.
The former footballer for the first time spoke about the terrible suffering he went through during liver cancer in 2011.
"The pain was unbearable. When the doctor told me I had to have another operation, I was happy, but I wouldn't wish the suffering I experienced on anyone," the Frenchman initially said.
Abidal also revealed the reaction of Lionel Messi and some friends at Barca to his illness.
"Some of them looked at me like 'you're skin'. I recorded a video before a match and sent it to them. Do you know what Messi told me? Don't send us stuff like that, it hurts us. I didn't see it, but I just said 'guys, encouragement', but they told me they saw me as a corpse and that discouraged them," said the 38-year-old.
Abidal also told how he visited Thierry Henry in the hospital "When I saw Titus, I cried like a baby, I don't want him to see me like that, but I liked that he came to me."
We emphasize that Abidal has appeared in 193 official matches for the Catalans, where he scored two goals.
He won the Champions League twice, La Liga four times and two Copa del Rey titles. /Telegraph/
