Zelensky shows interrogation of North Korean prisoners

President Volodymyr Zelensky has released the first video of the interrogation of North Korean soldiers captured in Russia's Kursk region, and said Ukraine is willing to return them to their country as part of a prisoner swap with Russia.

"Besides the first soldiers captured by North Korea, there will undoubtedly be more. It's only a matter of time before our troops catch up with others. There should be no doubt in the world that the Russian military is dependent on military aid from North Korea. "Putin started three years ago with ultimatums to NATO and attempts to rewrite history, but now he cannot succeed without Pyongyang's military support," Zelensky said.

Ukraine is ready to hand over Kim Jong Un's soldiers if he can arrange their exchange for Ukrainian fighters held captive in Russia, the Telegraph reports.

For those North Korean soldiers who do not wish to return, Zelensky says there may be other options available.

In particular, those who express a desire to bring peace by spreading the truth about this war in the Korean language will be given this opportunity.

"When one of the prisoners is questioned about whether he understood that he was fighting against Ukraine, he shakes his head. As the interpreter translated, the prisoner was told that he was just going for training," the Ukrainian president added.

The prisoner initially expressed his desire to stay in Ukraine, but then declared that "he would do as he was ordered."

The interpreter explained, “If it has to come back, it will come back. If given the opportunity, he will stay here."

Another North Korean prisoner nodded in the affirmative when asked if he wanted to return to North Korea.

Later in his speech, Zelensky said that one of the prisoners had expressed a desire to stay in Ukraine, while the other wanted to return to North Korea. /Telegraph/
