YOU AND ME

YOU AND ME

Poetry by: Abdurrahim Karakoç
Translated by Fatijona Bajraj

You and me
Not days, not weeks, not months
Even if you come after five years
This soul of mine will cut under the skin
And know that
What I've been waiting for is you

Sometimes I pick up a bunch of roses
Sometimes buy flowers
The truth and right of everything
You are the one who smells it and smells it

Your letter may not be in my pocket
Maybe your photo comes off my desk
If you want to know
Come enter my climate of love
No heart has come out of my chest
What I've been hiding is you

I don't know if you feel the rain falling
Happiness on earth
And when the sun kills the earth to touch the rising steam
The void between heaven and earth
The most innocent love
You are what I wrote

Being asleep, being awake
Far and near
Even if you are not aware of it
Going, going meanwhile
What I'm looking at is you
