Kosovo is continuing to increase its dependence on imported goods, driving the trade deficit to high levels.

According to data from the GAP Institute, based on Kosovo Customs statistics, during 2025, the country imported goods worth around 7 billion euros, while the export value was only 929 million euros.


This shows a large difference between imports and exports.

For comparison, during 2024 the import value was 6.38 billion euros, while in 2023 it was 5.878 billion euros.

According to the data, Kosovo's top 10 trading partners for imports are:

Germany – 1 billion euros

Turkey - 926 million euros

China - 920 million euros

Italy - 368 million euros

North Macedonia - 350 million euros

Albania - 286 million euros

Greece - 279 million euros

Poland - 273 million euros

Serbia - 234 million euros

India - 185 million euros

In 2024, Turkey was the main import partner, with Germany in second place.
