This will at least provide some relief for those who only wear bed socks, because it doesn't mean you have to endure a cold and uncomfortable winter.

But if you wear the same socks you've had all day, you might want to reconsider this.

A shocking study found that socks can be even dirtier than a toilet seat if worn for long periods without washing.

According to this study, sweat and moisture trapped inside create an ideal environment for bacteria to multiply, potentially leading to foot infections such as what is known as "athlete's foot."
