When Enveri and Mehmeti met Kim Jong-un's grandfather

Some unknown photos belonging to the years 1956 are discovered, where the communist dictator of Albania, Enver Hoxha, with some of his closest collaborators, members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PPS, such as Mehmet Shehu, Hysni Kapo , Ramiz Alia, etc., hosted in Albania the communist leader of North Korea, Kim Il-sung (Kim Il-sung), as well as the visit that he and part of the senior leadership made to North Korea at that time , which he published in his diary.

After Mao Zedong's People's Republic of China (Zedong), the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea was one of the Asian communist countries with which official Tirana had the most ties, mainly in military terms. Embassies between them existed until the collapse of the communist regime in 1991.

JUNE 1956

At the invitation of the Government of the People's Republic of Albania, the delegation of the DPRK of Korea, headed by Comrade Kim Il Sen, arrived in our country. At Tirana Airport, we welcomed our friends with an official ceremony. It was me too. After exchanging greetings, we left for the Palace of Brigades. On the way from an open car, together with my friend Kim Il Sen, we greeted the people of Tirana who welcomed our friends with love. In the afternoon, at the headquarters of the RPSH Council of Ministers, we started talks with Comrade Kim Il-Sen and other members of the delegation. We exchanged views on the relations between our two countries and on the current international situation.

VLOR, SATURDAY, JUNE 30, 1956

Together with my Korean friends we came to Vlora. At the rally organized by the people of Vlora, they talked about the visit of the Korean Democratic Republic of Korea's government delegation to our country. Comrade Kim Il Sung also spoke.

SUNDAY, JULY 1, 1956

I attended the reception that the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the DPRK of Korea gave at the dinner, at the hotel "Dajti", on the occasion of the stay in our country of the government delegation of the DPRK of Korea, headed by Comrade Kim Il Sen.

MONDAY, JULY 2, 1956

Today, the government delegation of the DPRK of Korea, headed by Comrade Kim Il Sen, left our country. To see off my friends, I also went to Tirana Airport together with other friends of the Party and state leadership. Before parting with our Korean friends, we exchanged greetings.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4, 1956

Comrade Kim Il Sung sent us a telegram of thanks for the warm welcome we gave him during his visit to Albania. After this, on behalf of the government of the DPRK of Korea, he invites me to visit Korea.

MONDAY, AUGUST 27, 1956

After the official invitations from China and Korea, the government of the People's Republic of Mongolia also invites us for a visit to Mongolia. I will go willingly.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 28, 1956

Tomorrow, at the head of the ALP delegation, we will leave to participate in the proceedings of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of China. We will also visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of Mongolia, where we are invited.

Comrade Kim Il Sung and others met us at the Pyongyang airport. The people and comrades of the Party and state leadership gave us a very warm and enthusiastic reception. Kim Il Sung gave a short speech of welcome.

We visited the Korean capital.: We visited the war museum, the agricultural exhibition, the textile factory, etc., etc., where we met the workers who welcomed us with love. I spoke to them about the efforts and selflessness of the Albanian people on the road to building socialism. In the afternoon, a large rally of Pyongyang workers was organized. Kim Il Sen gave a short speech in which he welcomed our visit to Korea, spoke about the successes of the Albanian people as well as the Korean people. In the evening, the cabinet of ministers of the DPRK of Korea hosted a dinner in honor of our delegation.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1956

We started visiting the northern parts of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Wherever we went in cities and work centers, the people welcomed us with joy, cheers, flowers, gongs and warmth.

PHENIAN, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1956

After visiting the northern and western parts of Korea, where the people welcomed us with love, we returned to Pyongyang. Today we had talks with our Korean friends in the cabinet of the Council of Ministers. What impressed me the most was Kim Il Sung's story about two members of their Politburo, who at the Party Central Committee plenum held after the 20th Congress, had attacked the line of leadership and its unity. When I asked Kim Il Sung what was their attitude towards them, he replied that the plenum criticized them and that after that they had fled to China, where they are to this day despite the request that the Koreans sent to the Chinese leadership to the fugitives returned to their homeland!... At the dinner, in honor of our delegation, the Korean play "Story of the Sim Con Girl" was performed by the Pyongyang Opera.
