What to do when you don't have a kitchen scale: How many grams are in a small spoon?

How nice it would be if all recipes in thick cookbooks or those on the Internet used the same unit of measurement, so that even novices in the kitchen could easily find their way around the measurements and proportions

In essence, respecting the exact amounts of items in recipes is sometimes an impossible mission, especially when some of the items are indicated in grams, some in milliliters, while the rest are also in glasses, cups, spoons, fingers and piece.

In order not to wander through the landscapes of the culinary jungle, we have tried to convert only the small spoons into grams, at least of the basic cooking items, Telegraph reports.

Weight in grams and volume in milliliters of a standard teaspoon is different, depending on what you measure in them:

▪ 1 small spoon with water is 5 grams;
▪ 1 small spoon of salt is 8 grams;
▪ 1 small spoon of sugar is 10 grams;
▪ 1 small spoonful of powdered sugar is 5 grams.

A small spoon can also hold:

▪ 3 grams of flour,
▪ 6 grams of breadcrumbs;
▪ 5 grams of vinegar;
▪ 6 grams of fresh milk;
▪ 8 grams of yogurt;
▪ 7 grams of butter;
▪ 2 grams of fat;
▪ 10 grams of rice;
▪ 10 grams of starch.
