The State Police have arrested a 53-year-old man in Durrës after he was driving a vehicle armed with a firearm, which he was carrying in his belt.
The Police statement states that the firearm, ammunition and the vehicle in which he was traveling have been seized.
"Following the successive strikes against illegal gun owners, based on information received on the operational route that a citizen was driving a vehicle, armed with a firearm, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Brezi".
"As part of the operation, in neighborhood no. 6, on 'Hysen Myshketa' street, the Police services found and stopped for inspection a vehicle suspected of being driven by a citizen armed with a firearm," the announcement states.
During the physical search, the Police services found a firearm, a Glock pistol, with combat ammunition in the citizen's ID belt, which were seized as material evidence.
Following the actions, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen ID, 53 years old, resident of Sukth, Durrës, was made, and the procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of explosive weapons and ammunition". /Telegrafi/
