Climbing swing, 13-year-old Honduran girl hits head on iron bar - parents watch her die

A great tragedy has occurred in Santa Barbara in Honduras, where a 13-year-old girl lost her life in a toy park.

It is suspected that the door handle was rusty and the girl had noticed this and started to hold it with her hand, but without any success, Telegrafi reports.

Even the amateur video has been published showing the moment when Britany Fernandez crashes into the iron bar, after slipping from the seat while her family was watching the whole event.

When the girl's body hit the metal platform, her head hit the bar and the impact is clearly heard in the video.

Everyone present ran to help her, but the blow to the head was fatal for the girl, who was pronounced dead when she was taken to the hospital.

The owners of the toy park told the local television that they have a work permit and accused the parents of the deceased girl.

"The little girl went on the swing without the accompaniment of her parents and lost consciousness. It is not our fault, we have the necessary permits", they said.

On the other hand, the police have started investigations and are collecting evidence from the scene. They even described the girl's death as accidental in a statement to the media. /Telegraph/
