The Kosovo authorities have arrested on Thursday, Fatmir Sheholli suspected of involvement in espionage.

The Kosovo Special Prosecution Office said that the suspect was arrested in the Pristina district after months of investigation and that he was taken into custody for 48 hours.

Acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla said that Sheholli is a man who has had "unlimited space" in Kosovo's media, and that he has "collaborated with actors who work and act every day to undermine our Republic and its progress."

But recently, a video of a statement by acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti to PDK MP Hisen Berisha from the podium of the Kosovo Assembly has begun to be republished, asking him not to meet Fatmir Sheholli.

"All these accusations that you made against me, I can only answer one thing to these accusations, you can help the state of Kosovo and I have a request for you. Do not meet Fatmir Sheholli, do not stay with Fatmir Sheholli, the collaborator of Serbia. But we do not have a Prosecutor. Just go to the podium and say that I will not meet with Fatmir Sheholli anymore, I cannot make a greater contribution to the Republic of Kosovo," Kurti had declared.

Berisha had responded to Kurti that "I don't care about Fatmir Sheholli, he is a free citizen of the Republic of Kosovo. Go file a lawsuit and put him in prison. He is no worse than Simiqi and Radoicici, who collaborated on every decision you made in this Assembly." /Telegrafi/
