Kosovo Police have completed the raid on the apartment of Fatmir Sheholli, arrested today on suspicion of espionage.

The news about the arrest of Sheholli for espionage was announced today by the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.

Minister Sveçla has stated that he expects institutional treatment of this case with great seriousness, reports the Telegraph.

"The Kosovo Police, in close cooperation with the KIA and the prosecution, have arrested Fatmir Sheholli today, on well-founded suspicions of involvement in espionage. I expect institutional treatment with high seriousness of this case, which constitutes one of the most serious acts against the security and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo."

"Individuals like this who have had unlimited media space in our country have collaborated with actors who work and act every day to undermine our Republic and its progress. We remain committed to protecting our country from all circles that do not hesitate to endanger it for any of their own benefits. The time of Serbia's spies in Kosovo is over. Anyone who works for Serbia and against Kosovo will be pursued without compromise and unstoppable. The Republic must be protected with the highest institutional and moral responsibility," Sveçla wrote.
