Warning from the CBK: Beware of fraudulent messages on behalf of banks

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) has issued a warning to citizens regarding a fraudulent campaign currently circulating through SMS messages, which aims to steal financial data.
According to the CBK, fraudulent messages falsely present themselves as notifications from commercial banks and contain urgent requests for action, as well as suspicious links that could lead to misuse of banking data.
The CBK calls on citizens to be extra careful and not fall prey to these scams. The institution advises that bank card details be stored carefully and never shared via e-mail, SMS or telephone with unauthorized persons.
Citizens are also recommended not to open suspicious links, not to make payments or enter banking details through links sent by SMS, and to use only official websites and verified bank applications.
The CBK emphasizes the importance of activating notifications for each transaction and regularly checking the history of payments and transfers. In case of receiving any suspicious message, citizens are advised to immediately report it to their bank or financial institution.
"Don't be fooled and be careful about your online security," is the CBK's appeal to all citizens. /Telegraph/
