Videnovic: Serbia wants to take Kosovo by force and finish the genocide it has started

Ivan Videnović, a law professor at the University of Belgrade and a well-known critic of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, has raised the alarm about the deepening influence of the Serbian Orthodox Church in state politics and Serbia's dangerous closeness to Russia.

In a public reaction, Videnović sharply criticized the recent meeting between Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in the Kremlin.

He described this as a sign of the Serbian Orthodox Church's direct involvement in the country's geopolitical orientation, to the detriment of relations with the European Union.

He commented on some recently published images showing:

Image showing the Map of Kosovo. "Let's take Kosovo by force and end the beginning of the genocide."

Serbian soldiers with the "Z" symbol - used by Russian forces in the war in Ukraine - holding flags with religious iconography and nationalist slogans.

Other soldiers kneel in a church before Orthodox icons, in a direct mix between the military and religion.

According to Videnović, Vučić's Serbia is taking the country away from the path towards the European Union, orienting it towards a religious-nationalist project with support from Russia.

Videnović commented on the photo's message, which reads "There is no surrender", saying "Let's take Kosovo by force and finish the beginning of the genocide."

The flag contains a political and symbolic message related to the issue of Kosovo and Serbia.

This flag features the map of Kosovo, but it is covered with the colors of the Serbian flag (red, blue, and white) and the national emblem of Serbia (the double-headed eagle and royal crown).

Videnović: “To be the Jamahiriya of the Saint Sava sect”

This image shows a group of Serbian soldiers kneeling in an interior that appears to be a church or religious space, with Orthodox icons on the wall.

The presence of uniformed soldiers within such a space indicates a deep mix between state institutions (the army) and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Videnovic: "Being a obedient Russian whore"

This photo shows a group of soldiers dressed in military uniforms, while some of them hold a red flag with the iconography of Christ and an inscription in Cyrillic.

One of the people in the center is wearing a T-shirt with the symbol "Z", which has been used as a pro-Russian symbol in the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

This image, which illustrates the connections between military, religious, and nationalist elements, reinforces the context of the criticism of Professor Ivan Videnovic, who has denounced the Serbian Orthodox Church's meddling and proximity to Russian interests, as well as the dangerous rhetoric involving Kosovo.

Videnovic: "Being part of the Russian world in the future global division of interests"

The meeting, held in a luxurious setting, reinforces the narrative raised by Professor Ivan Videnović: the direct involvement of the Serbian Orthodox Church in international diplomacy, in line with Russia's interests. /Telegraph/
