The fully electric version of the Land Rover Defender will appear on the market in 2025

Land Rover is working on a fully electric version of the Defender, which will appear on the market in 2025.

The electric defender will have a range of 480 kilometers, and is expected to be launched in the improved version of the existing model with a conventional engine, Telegrafi reports.

It is claimed that there will be no electric Defender 110, but only the 90 and 130 two-door models. The electric Defender is expected to use the new MLA platform from Land Rover that supports both conventional and fully electric powertrains.

This platform is already used in the new Range Rover and Ranger Rover Sport models, while the aforementioned models in the fully electric version will be introduced at the end of 2024.

Defendeder will have a battery with a capacity of 100 kWh. And apart from the engine and some minor exterior changes, the electric Defender would look very similar to the SUS-powered version that goes on sale from 2020.

However, it is expected that there will be improvements in the infortainment system and there will be durable materials inside the cabin. /Telegraph/
