Prime Minister Albin Kurti together with the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, inspected the works in the Hemato-Oncology Clinic and the Nephrology Clinic. In these two new clinics, services are expected to be offered which patients previously received abroad, because they are not currently offered in the Kosovar health system.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that this project has a value of 4.3 million euros and is expected to be completed within 24 months.
"This project has a total value of nearly 4.3 million euros and I will offer services with the highest health standards for the treatment of patients... which will now begin to be treated in our Republic and not citizens instead of going to the hospital for healing to think about which airline they will travel with abroad as has happened in these more than two decades. So, there will be access to new services which are currently not available in our country.
This is the most important leap that is being made in health investments... The building will have three levels, the basement, the ground floor and the first floor... Nephrology occupies the space of 1094 square meters on the ground floor, Hematology which is on the first floor of 1610 square meters and the investment has a total area of 3 square meters. The term of the contract is 760 months, duration of implementation 48 months, but we were told here that this will be shortened and in fact the aim is to conclude in 36 months", he said.
According to him, it is important to note that the basement will have several main areas, the warehouse for consumables, diagnostics for Nephrology and Hemato-oncology.
"Meanwhile, the Nephrology Department is on the ground floor, and there will be the main entrance and common contents for vertical communication, as well as the direct connection to the Dialysis Department, through the corridor. Meanwhile, the first floor is the Department of Hemato-oncology, with accompanying contents including this building on the existing ground floor, the existing dialysis in this isolation area.
It is the new services that are our goal, because the development, the investment is done with the patient at the center, it is the plasmapheresis service, which will be offered for the first time in Kosovo, and we are committed to offering the kidney biopsy as well. And the other is autologous bone marrow transplantation for acute leukemias, an opportunity that previously, as I started this speech, sent our patients abroad for treatment, but with the completion of this project, it will be developed within the University Clinical Center of Kosovo", he said. he.
"... I congratulate both the KKUK, the ShSKUK, and the director, and we are very grateful for this cooperation that we have between the KKUK, the ShSKUK, the directors of the clinics, the health staff, both doctors and nurses, the Ministry of Health, the deputies of the Assembly, where Fatmire Kollçaku Mulhaxha has joined us, and also at the same time the heads of work who will therefore work with efficiency and quality never seen before because they will do the three-year planning in two years". said the prime minister, among other things.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said that these investments in the health infrastructure are being made according to contemporary standards.
"Most of the facilities are facilities built four, five, six decades or more and they have not even come close to fulfilling the basic conditions for a quality and contemporary service that the citizens of the Republic deserve, and this is the good thing that any investment that is done today. Any transformation or renovation in clinics, new constructions, all these conditions including the digitization component because we are constantly working on the SISH component as a necessary prerequisite for health insurance", she emphasized.
The Director of Hematology, Afërdita Ukimeraj said that this clinic needs more space in order to treat patients more dignified.
"The works are going very well, the unforeseen progress seems to be two years ago, the construction will be finished. The Hematology Clinic is one of the clinics that has an imperative need for an increase in spaces for the most dignified treatment of hemato-oncological patients because it is a pathology that requires special care from all of us", stressed Ukimeraj.
A week ago, the Orthopedics Clinic was inaugurated at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. Meanwhile, during this year, renovations were made in the Clinic of Gynecology, Emergency, etc.
