Trump picks Musk associate Jared Isaacman to head NASA

US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday nominated Jared Isaacman to lead NASA.

With this, he has chosen a billionaire astronaut and close associate of Elon Musk to oversee an agency closely related to the business of the founder of SpaceX, foreign media write, Telegraph reports.

Isaacman, CEO of payments processing company Shift4 Payments, has flown into space twice on missions orchestrated by his Polaris program, an effort using SpaceX vehicles and the company's spacesuits to conduct fully private flights into Earth orbit.


If confirmed, he will oversee the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's roughly $25 billion budget, heavily focused on returning men to the moon under its Artemis program, a multibillion-dollar effort promoted by Trump during his term in office. first four-year-old that will rely heavily on SpaceX's Starship.
