Minister of AgricultureAgriculture, Forestry and economist of Waters, Cvetan Tripunovski considers that the statistical data published today on the export of agricultural products is a clear indicator that agricultural policies are moving in the right direction and that in the future the country will not only meet domestic needs, but will also increase exports."Comparing the first five months of 2024 with the first five months of 2025, we record an increase of over 50 percent in the export sector. In absolute terms, it is about 75 million euros, which is a serious increase. This increase means that we managed to promote local agricultural products even outside the borders of the state, which in the future will mean a return to what Macedonia has always been able to do to meet domestic needs, but also to export. The phrase Macedonia as a food importer should become a thing of the past," the minister underlined. Tripunovski, who today promoted the new campaign "The Best of Macedonia".He emphasized that a working group has been formed to analyze the effects of subsidies and that the first analyses show that the causes of the decline in agricultural production are not are We are talking about subsidies, but a small modification will be made in this part in 2026 in order to increase local production."Initial analyses show that the causes of the decline in production are not only subsidies, on the contrary, they are a moment of maintenance for farmers, however, over the past years we witnessed that the Government and the Ministry had not made agricultural production a priority. We inherited subsidies that were delay serious and we paid, meanwhile in way current of we service all subsidies that are according to the payment calendar, which is how we build farmers' trust in institutions, which was not the case in the past because a part of population "agriculturalists had abandoned agricultural production," he said Tripunovski.
