Tom Jones stayed with his childhood sweetheart until her death, but their 59-year marriage was marked by many betrayals

Tom Jones has been married to his wife, Melinda Rose Woodward, for 59 years, but the Sex Bomb hitmaker has said he slept with 250 women a year while on tour.

The singer's wife passed away in 2016 at the age of 75 after a short battle with cancer. The musician described her as a wonderful woman and the love of his life.

However, even though it was considered pleasant, their long marriage was accompanied by multiple betrayals of the husband, until the musician's wife was used to turning a blind eye.

They married in 1957 when Linda was just 16 years old. A year later, she gave birth to their only child, son Mark Woodward.

In the 2015 autobiography, "Over the Top and Back", Tom revealed that he had been in love with Linda since the age of 12, but at that time he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and had been bedridden for two years.

They started dating at the age of 15 and got married a year later, while his wife soon became pregnant.

“I've never had that feeling for someone else, I don't think you can fall in love more than once. She is the most important thing in my life."

"An incredible woman. Linda is the love of my life and continues to be, even though it doesn't seem like it," Jones said in his book.

However, Tom confessed that at the height of his career he had slept with 250 women a year during the periods when he went on tour.

While asked in US TV as to why his affairs were not included in the book of memoirs, he said: "I don't think it's important. It's not something that built me. It's not something that brought me here."

Among his many affairs, the two-year relationship with the singer Mary Wilson has been mentioned. Also, he was in a relationship with Miss World, Marjorie Wallace, when she was 19 years old. Their affair was discovered when they were photographed kissing on a beach.

When Tom broke up with her, the beauty queen had tried to kill herself with pills, but survived.
