The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that he is interested in concluding the dialogue in Brussels, but this should not be at the expense of our stability.
Kurti, in the session of the Assembly on the dialogue with Serbia, said that our country should be strengthened, since there is no guarantee that even after mutual recognition, Serbia will continue to be destructive towards us, this
"So I'm interested as soon as possible, but while I'm interested in starting the talks so that we can conclude it as soon as possible, you must understand that this should not be at the expense of our sustainability. The side that seems, let's say, frustrated that the dialogue is being extended, is read as a weakness by the other side and this weakness will be exploited".
"On the one hand, I have an interest in this going as soon as possible, on the other hand, it must prove that the state of Kosovo, regardless of whether Serbia recognizes us or not, regardless of when the next meeting is and the agreement we make or not we do it, there is success in the economy, justice and in every other field, so we must strengthen our state despite the destructive attitude of Serbia... we cannot change geography and history, they will have northern neighbors even after recognition and there is no guarantee that even after mutual recognition, they will not continue with destructiveness towards us, this means that we must build state immunity against the destructiveness of official Belgrade. So the fact that we closed a chapter does not mean that we close everything", he said.
Kurti also answered the deputies about the accusations that he violated his words about dialogue and the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.
"The word of the state, the word of the state and the word of the martyrs were violated by those 84 who voted for Zajednica on June 27, 2013, in this Assembly, 84 names and surnames are, you can find them in the archives of the Assembly. You can no longer talk to me about keeping your word without documenting that violation," he said, adding that the agreement with Serbia will be legally binding.
