"This is my window"

"This is Dritëroi im", is the title of the newest book dedicated to Dritëro Agolli, which was published in a difficult situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, as announced by the writer's daughter Elona Agolli. She says that the project for the memoir "was left in the middle" by the great writer's wife, Sadije Agolli, who passed away unexpectedly a year ago.

The book that has just been released by the "Dritëro" Publishing House has about 1000 pages of memories and impressions dedicated to this outstanding personality of Albanian letters.

A total of 120 authors are included in the book "This is my window". Among them there are writers and publicists, well-known personalities of art and culture, of politics and science, of the academic world and personalities from different fields of life and social activity.


All have confessed freely and without hiding anything from the way of behavior and life of the writer. Everyone writes what they have seen and experienced about the great Albanian writer and poet.

"'We will not be able to finish this book. I find it difficult', my mother often repeated to me, when we both summarized the articles sent or the pages edited together. And it happened that before the editing was finished, mom passed away. She had a premonition, she felt that she would not finish this book started with such passion and persistence by herself. He knew that his father's call to get closer to him was very strong", says Elona. "I often found myself saying out loud: I will publish the memoir and dedicate it to you, Mom."

And yet the book came out. The memories and beautiful stories in the book come as living testimonies, carving in the reader's memory not only the profile of the great writer who remained so humane and big-hearted until the end of his life.
