Last night in Gjakovë, at the age of 78, our well-known poet Din Mehmeti passed away.
Din Mehmeti was born in 1932 in the village of Gjocaj in Junik. He studied Albanian language and literature at the University of Belgrade. He has been a professor for many years at the Pedagogical School of Gjakova.
Today at 12:00 in Gjakovë a commemorative meeting will be held, while the burial will take place at 14,00:XNUMX in the city cemetery in Gjakovë.
Although he has published literary criticism and a play, Din Mehmeti is mainly known for his figurative poetry, which was published from 1961 to 1999 in 16 volumes.
He published his first poem in 1949 in the literary magazine Jeta e re. Best known works: In the Wings of Fire (1961), Solar Youth. (1966) The tremors of the light (1969), The dead silence (1972) die when die (1974). /QIK/
