The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, called the holding of the Third Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union and the opening of the group-chapter 6: Foreign Relations as an important step for Albania.

In a statement to the media before the Conference, Rama said that, "Our march continues! We are here to take a new important step and to open a new group-chapter, which is very, very important for our plan, because it is a step that is being done according to the plan."

"And yes, we have to move forward and our ambition is to open more group-chapters, hopefully in the spring and then make sure that the next year closes with open group-chapters", said Rama.

"It is really a very good day for our country and a very motivating step for all of us", the head of the government emphasized.

The group-chapter contains two chapters: Chapter 30 – Foreign relations and Chapter 31 – Foreign, security and defense policy.

This decision comes after the opening of the "Fundamentals" chapter on October 15, which includes key reforms in justice, the rule of law, fundamental rights and the functioning of democratic institutions. /Telegraph/
