The return of the "exchange of territories", the reply between Petrit Selim and Veton Surroit on Twitter

The former Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Petrit Selimi, does not believe that there will be a result of the agreement within the European proposal.
In a post on Twitter, Selimi says that the final draft is much worse than the working draft.
And for this reason, he says that the return of the "territorial exchange" may occur.
"I don't see that this is going to work. The mutually agreed exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia will return if this framework remains," he said.
According to him, the root of this agreement was supposed to be the proposal of the former German emissary in the Kosovo-Serbia talks, Wolfgang Ischinger.
This proposal, he adds, was based on the "2 Germans Model," which he says was functional.
"This was a functional model. This negotiated annex has watered it down to a simple political statement focused on the "immediate" creation of "self-management for the Serb community," Selimi says.
Regarding this, publicist Veton Surroi responded to Selim on Twitter.
Surroi said that it would not be a good idea to mention the return to PDK's efforts that have tried and failed (bad agreements, territorial exchanges).
He adds that now there are new actors, a new framework, although he points out that there is a weak implementation plan.
"Improvement and not return should be the driving force," wrote Surroi.
The idea of territorial exchanges was thrown into public opinion during 2018.
The then president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, in interviews with the media, called it a correction of the borders between Kosovo and Serbia.
According to this, the Presheva Valley in southern Serbia, where the population is mostly Albanian, can join Kosovo.
In return, Serbia will restore full control over the ethnically Serb-majority area of Kosovo north of the Iber River, which runs through the heart of Mitrovica./Telegrafi/
