The priest who hit the crying child during baptism is suspended (Video)

Jacques Lacrois has been suspended from his priestly duties after a video went viral where he is seen shooting a crying child during baptism.

The 89-year-old priest apologized in shame, while saying he will never baptize any child again, Telegrafi reports.

He defended the act he carried out in a church on the outskirts of Paris, saying he was between 'the caress and the flame'.

"I tried to calm him down because I had to lower his head to drain the holy water." I was holding his cheek when I lost control and hit him. I may have hurt him, I apologize and I wish him well. This was my last baptism, because I feel that I have to retire", Lacrois told a local radio station.

But this was not enough for church officials, who suspended him and no longer allow him to baptize or marry couples.

His parents and the church council forgave him for his actions, but his age and clumsiness in action caused him to be removed from his duties, but he is allowed to speak at mass. /Telegraph/
