The President of El Salvador is offering every citizen $30 worth of free cryptocurrency

The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, has warned that he will offer cryptocurrency worth $30 to every citizen who is notified and is ready to use this digital currency, writes Bloomberg.

The government will create its own digital currency called Chivo, which in urban language means "cool". The money will be deposited in the account of every citizen who accepts the "chivo" as currency and registers as a user on his phone with his ID number, Telegrafi reports.

And this offer is expected to come into effect from September 7. Bukele believes that with this move I will transform El Salvador into an attractive destination for investors.

The parliament of the state in Central America at the beginning of the month approved the law by which bitcoin becomes the official currency, which can be used for various payments.

This means, among other things, that prices in this country can be converted to bitcoin, and that all utility payments are made through the digital currency. /Telegraph/
