Born in Elbasan on March 8, 1881, Isuf Myzyri is an important artist in our history - People's Artist after death, popular master known everywhere as Usta. Creator, singer-tenor and prominent popular performer on the violin instrument of the first half of the XNUMXth century.
As a child, Isuf Myzyri worked in various trades. He marries at a young age and separates after a few years. He spent his whole life together with his sister, and never married again. His mother's origin was from Përmet. In 1905, he formed his formation with folk instruments consisting of Simon Vela with çyr, Mahmut Ashiku with lute, Arif Çerma-Topalli with tambourine, Thom Priftin with gernete, Mehmet Gurra with oud, Ibrahim Zaimin with long-tailed çyr, Myrteza Gracenin and Riza Beratin. with violin.
Although Usta Isufi started his activity as a creator at an old age around 1927-1928, about 30 Elbasan folk songs are known as his authorship. Among the songs composed and processed by him, we mention: "I found you in zabel", "Iku nata, agun malet", "Love like lightning", "A flower garden with roses", "Among the eyebrows, you have a point", "Ma well in the forest than in the city", "Like the nightingale in the spring", "What did you want to do with him?", "Spaske got a point of mercy" etc.
Usta Isufi is credited with building a repertoire of folk songs from Elbasan where the beauty of the musical phrase stands out as well as the orientation towards the true values of the musical culture of Elbasan. In 1950, he was given the title of "Honorary Dervish" by the Bektashi World Supreme Court.
His songs have passed by word of mouth and from one singer to another, not only in Elbasan, but throughout Albania, in Kosovo and among Albanians in Macedonia.
In 1950, in the city of Elbasan, the musical formation of Usta Isuf recorded several discs with popular songs in a record company of the former Soviet Union.
Among the other popular singers of the city of Elbasan who have sung popular songs with his formation with instruments, we also mention Mitat Stringë, Leksi Vin, Mustafa Bodin, Rustem Sericë, Mahmut Ashik, Arif Topallin, Met Balashin, Demir Shoren, Ali Zenë, etc.
On 31.08.1978 (posthumously) he was awarded the high title "People's Artist" with the motivation: "As a popular singer, he has provided outstanding help in the enrichment and development of folk songs...".
