The police react to the imam who said that "Independence Day is haram"

The anti-terror directorate in the State Police has referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office for imam Armand Ali, after the latter published an article on the social network Facebook one day after the Independence Day of Albania, where he asked not to celebrate this date as he was against it. Islamic rules.

"On 06.12.2017, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of Tirana, for the citizen AA, 41 years old, resident of Selitë, Tirana, for the criminal offense of 'Inciting hatred or strife', after he published an article on a network social with the title 'Albanian imam surprises: Do not celebrate Independence Day, it is haram!'", the press release states.

"Independence Day and other national holidays are not allowed for a Muslim to celebrate or wish for them because there is no religious argument to allow such an action. Even though similar events could have taken place in the period of the first generation of Islam when the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, was alive and the four righteous caliphs after him, however, they did not do such a thing. This shows that something like this is only a habit of the unbelievers and the Muslim believers are commanded not to resemble them in anything.

Independence holidays in different Muslim countries did not appear until they were conquered by foreign invaders. After their departure from different countries, people influenced by the culture of the invaders chose those days to be called Independence Day and started celebrating.

If you delve a little deeper into the Independence Days, you will see that those days serve Western foreign policy for the division and fragmentation of Islamic countries. These divisions were the fruit of the agreement between the allied countries (winners of the two world wars) to divide the body of the Islamic Ummah. In reality, these imposed borders and days of independence holidays in every country and piece of land are not days for Muslim believers to celebrate, but they are days for which they should mourn. A single example would be enough for you to understand this. Look at Albania and Kosovo, which, even though they are populated by a single nation, no one from the western countries has allowed and will not allow them to join. Even the politicians of both countries will not allow something like this. Do you think that the western world will allow the union of two pieces of land that were separated by their order?

The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, did not celebrate Independence Day or other national commemorations. He did not celebrate his emigration (Hijra), nor the creation of the first Islamic state. These celebrations and congratulations were not done even by the four righteous and guided caliphs. They did not act even by the Umayyad caliphs when the power passed into their hands. Neither did the Abbasid caliphs when they were in power. The sultans of the Ottoman Empire did not act either. Throughout this long Islamic history with states and empires known for various expansions and contractions, no one celebrated such holidays. This shows that this type of celebration was imposed on the Muslims by the unbelievers.

The origins of Muslims are only two annual holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. When the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, went to Medina, he found its inhabitants celebrating and playing on two days of the year. After asking them about them, he said: "Allah has replaced you with two better days, the Day of Fitr and the Day of Sacrifice." This is a clear argument that shows that any other kind of annual national holiday, independence, prophet's birthday, personal birthday, marriage and any other kind of commemoration as a sign of sadness for someone's death, whoever it is, is haram for Muslim believers. In addition to the two annual holidays, Muslims also have special days in which there are no celebrations but there are special worships, such as the first ten days of the month of Dhul Hijjah, which includes the Day of Arafat and Kurban Bayram, the day of Ashura or the three days of Teshrik. A special day is also Friday, which is celebrated with special worship.

Apart from the two holidays and these special days, no other religious argument has come to allow anything other than them. The best guidance is the guidance of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the best path is the path that he clarified for us and that his companions followed. Every goodness for the Muslim is found in the passing of the first chosen generations that passed while every evil is found in the inventions and innovations of those who came after.

If you want to be a true believer, follow in the footsteps of those who lived with Islam 24 hours a day for 12 months of the year. And if you want to live like someone else, you have options to choose as much as you want, but don't forget that day when you return to Allah, and then everyone will be rewarded for what they did and no one will be treated unfairly", was the imam's post.
