The opposition parties PDK, LDK and AAK have reiterated their demand that the country go to extraordinary elections.

After the presidency meeting that was held today, the representatives of the three opposition parties demanded the dissolution of the Assembly and the resignation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The head of the PDK Parliamentary Group, Abelard Tahiri, said that September should find Kosovo with a new prime minister.

He said that there are still two days left "in the constitutional window" to bring the country to early elections, or otherwise, according to him, the Government should bring the mandate to the end.

"There are 2 days left of the constitutional window for our country to be able to hold elections on June 30 or July 7. These two days will give an epilogue, and we will wait until the last moment, for the country to go to extraordinary elections so that autumn or September will take our place with a new prime minister who will bring Kosovo out of the crisis". said Tahiri.

The head of the LDK Parliamentary Group, Arben Gashi, said that the resignation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti is the only solution to this political process.

"As for the elections, there is only one solution, the solution is the resignation of the prime minister. So, if the prime minister wants to have a solution and elections at the same time, he should offer the solution, the solution is resignation and the country going to elections", said Gashi.

He added that the elections are expected to be announced no later than September 15, but consultations with political parties must continue.

"The regular election date is between January 15 and February 15, 2025...we are in election time...it is not a matter of deadlines and ultimatums...", he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the AAK Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, said that Prime Minister Albin Kurti used the meeting with the PDK leaders "to negotiate the terms of his surrender".

"The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo will send a written answer to confirm that the elections will take place when this government is dismissed or when this harmful government resigns... The capitulation of this Government must happen with the resignation of saj...I am asking a simple question to the citizens: are you living better now? The life of citizens has become difficult", said Tahiri.

Unlike the opposition, the deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Adnan Rrustemi, said that there was no request for the appointment of the dissolution session of the Assembly.

"There was nothing concrete and official, there was no request to list the dissolution of the assembly as an item in a session, but I repeat if the opposition, the entire political spectrum, agree on the way to go to early elections through the dissolution of the Assembly , the Vetëvendosje movement is ready. On the contrary, the work continues to complete the full mandate and of course to fulfill the political and governing program in relation to the commitments given in the last elections", he added.

If the opposition agrees, Rrustemi added that the Vetëvendosje Movement is also ready to set the date of the elections.

"LVV's position is clear, it has been clear all along. We agree that if there is a broad consensus of the opposition and the majority for a certain date for early elections, respectively for the dissolution of the Assembly, we are ready to discuss the dissolution of the Assembly. But this requires the inclusion and distribution of the entire opposition, let's say the entire political spectrum. Because the election date and the election is a process that involves all political parties. If the opposition agrees on this, we are ready to discuss the dissolution of the Assembly", he emphasized. /Telegraph/
