The opposition and analysts demand coordination for the Ibri Bridge

MPs from the opposition and analysts demand that the actions of the Government for the opening of the Ibri Bridge be coordinated with Kosovo's allies. After the visits of high officials of NATO, as well as the head of the CIA in Kosovo, the officials of the ruling party declare that any consultation with the allies is necessary. However, according to them, there is no reason to stop the extension of sovereignty in the north.
In the Democratic League of Kosovo, they consider that the executive has withdrawn from the decision to open the Ibri bridge, after international pressure.
However, political analysts consider that the government's silence on this subject is more a return to rationality.
The deputy of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, from the ranks of the Guxo party, Haxhi Avdyli says that the security bodies in Kosovo are ready to confront all those who think of destabilization in the north.
"Every consultation with these actors is necessary. We take their every remark or warning seriously, but there is no reason not to stop the extension of sovereignty as it is happening. I think the bridge is more a symbol of division than any major problem. The security agencies are ready to face those who think to destabilize. We will listen attentively to the warnings of our friends about who is threatening the security and Kosovo will be ready to face them", says the deputy of the majority.
However, the deputy of LDK, Avdullah Hoti, declares that the silence of the government in relation to the opening of the Ibri bridge is related to the visits of high officials of NATO, as well as the head of the CIA in Kosovo.
According to him, any action in the north should be taken in coordination with the allies who are responsible for Kosovo's national security.
"What I have seen in recent days is a complete silence on the actions that need to be taken there, which has been expected from the beginning.... (Decisions on the north) must be taken in coordination with allies who are responsible for the national security of the Republic of Kosovo. The lack of this coordination is to the detriment of Kosovo and is in service to countries that are not friends of Kosovo," Hoti emphasizes.
Meanwhile, the political analyst, Albinot Maloku, emphasizes that in recent weeks the government is acting rationally in relation to the opening of the Ibri bridge.
"I think it's more of a return to rationality than a retreat. When I say this, I think that the government has now learned what are the decisive factors in the specific issues related to Kosovo, such as the case for the opening of the bridge over the Ibër River. The government found out that it is not up to the will of the citizens whether they want it or not, since the bridge had to be opened for the citizens. I want to see this more as a return of the rationality of the government, in relation to its own power and competence to undertake something that has been more populist, ignoring the factors that decide rather than the pure will to move forward", Maloku declares.
During this week, the assistant secretary general for NATO operations, Thomas Goffus, was in Kosovo, while last week he was the head of the CIA, William Burns.
Also, during the week Prime Minister Kurti was asked but did not answer about the bridge. While, at the Government meeting, he said that while they are waiting for the final report on sustainability and are intervening in the regulation of its appearance, he emphasized that the bridges are for free movement in Kosovo and in all EU countries. /KP/Telegraph/
