The Ambassador of France in Kosovo, Olivier Guerot, does not see any better solution for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, than the Franco-German plan.

The French ambassador emphasized that this plan has advantages for both countries, as he says that this proposal ensures the things for Kosovo that it has been looking for for years.

"I don't see any other solution here besides the Franco-German plan. It is a solution that was proposed in September 2022 and was discussed and finally came out in February 2023 and as Rohde [the ambassador of Germany] said it has given many advantages for Kosovo, better relations, territorial integrity, membership in international organizations and things of others, for which Kosovo has fought over the years", said Guerot.

He repeated the request of the QUINT countries, saying that France also expects Kosovo to fulfill its duties and proceed further with the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.

Guerot says that the draft for the Association is a good draft, stressing that this is what the Kosovo government also thinks, since there is still no other proposal for this draft from their side.

"Not only do I think it's a good draft, I think the government also agrees, because the prime minister has expressed his willingness to accept it if it's part of the package. It has not proposed any changes. I don't think the draft is bad. This document does not give additional powers to the municipalities, as it is written and is related to the fulfillment of their powers, which they possess. It is completely legal. We expect the Association from Kosovo, and there is another article that talks about the Serbian Orthodox Church, we must proceed further for the interest of Kosovo", said Guerot, for RTV Dukagjini.

Even the ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has said that the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority is an obligation of Kosovo and should be implemented as such.

"It is an obligation of Kosovo from the Parliament. Kosovo and Serbia have agreed to implement the Brussels agreement and this is the way to achieve the normalization of relations, because you read the agreements, it is one thing that Kosovo must implement the Association and the other steps must be forwarded by Serbia", stated Rohde. /Dukagjin/
