Director of National Emergency: The situation of the coronavirus in Albania is calm, the flu is more aggressive

Albania still has no signals of the presence of new mutations of Covid-19 which have aggravated the situation in China.

Skënder Brataj, director of the National Emergency and expert of the technical committee, says that we are currently in a quiet period, with few infections from the coronavirus.

"Fortunately, there is no increase in the number at this moment, fortunately natural immunization and the high number of vaccines that were the best weapons, were used," says Brataj for A2 CNN.

Europe has reinstated anti-Covid measures for citizens coming from China, not only to confirm the positivity to Covid-19, but also the new variants that are in circulation. Grifon and Cerebrus are the two mutations that have brought China to its knees, as well as raised the alarm in America and Europe. The Cerebrus mutation Covid-19 is highly transmissible, but also aggressive.

"This variant survives more than the current variants, both natural protection and vaccines. That's why it's worrying, that it evades our protection", says Brataj.

Albania has not yet imposed restrictions on citizens coming from China. Yes, according to Skënder Brataj, the situation that is happening there cannot be repeated in our country and this for several reasons.

"We are protected, we have passed several variants through disease and vaccination. This subvariant, in a population like China, where the majority was "virgin", can also bring other subvariants", he added.

Currently, seasonal flu and other respiratory viruses dominate in Europe and in our country. This period, influenza type A is much more aggressive than Omicron's Ba4 and Ba5 mutations themselves.

The expert of the Technical Committee recommends the population to carry out the flu vaccine but also the adapted doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine that protect against the subvariants of Omicron. /Telegraph/
