The mystery that shocked the world: Who is "Babushka"? (Photo/Video)

Photographs taken during the 1963 assassination of US President John F. Kennedy depict a woman taking pictures as people around her flee for shelter. The FBI searched for the woman, but the identity of the woman in that photograph was never revealed.
Immediately after the assassination, FBI and CIA investigators began questioning people and taking statements from onlookers who were present at the end of November 22. This had to do with people taking pictures of the day's events, so that investigators could then confiscate the equipment in the hope of discovering the identity of the killer.
Although not of the highest quality, these photographic materials were nevertheless counted in evidence that have been seen countless times. In the panic that followed the killing, most people fled or stood in their ranks, as it was not clear which direction the shots were coming from.
What is more than clear and shown several times in several photographs is the scene of a woman holding what looks like a camera in front of her face, pointed at the president's vehicle when he was shot. Being so close to the road, his views were considered very important.
This woman was unusually dressed for such a day with a scarf tied around her head, as there was no rain or strong sun. In her beige coat, average height and powerful physical appearance, she quickly earned the name "Babushka" after the national Russian doll, KosovaPress reports.
Although she appears in several photos, none reveal her face well enough for identification.
Why didn't he run away?
By carefully studying the photographs, the investigators noticed that Babushka in no photograph reveals signs of fear, compared to the terrible event. All the pursuit of her has been fruitless - she herself has never been reported or found, and some theories go so far as to implicate her in the plot to kill the president as an accessory.
False statements
Beverly Olivier came to the police in 1970 and claimed to be the so-called "Babushka" and her camera was confiscated by the FBI on the day of the murder and never returned. Although it initially seemed like a solution to the mystery, Olivier made a mistake in her steps – she said that her camera was a model that only began to be used in the following years. In addition, examination of witnesses and analysis of photographs showed that the real "Babushka" was older and larger than Olivier.
Russian spy
There are various theories that say that "Babushka" is not carrying a camera, but binoculars, and therefore did not approach the FBI. There are those who think that "Babushka" was a Russian spy who knew about the murder, and the most intriguing fact is that she simply disappeared into thin air.
