Leaders of the Municipality of Prizren have met the officials of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure and those of Swiss Contact to review the construction project of the cable car to the Castle of Prizren.
"President Shaqir Totaj received the officials of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Nazmi Gashi and Vllaznim Maloku, as well as the official of the Swiss-Contact agency, Lulzim Krasniqi, to discuss the construction process of the cable car to Prizren Castle. On this occasion, the importance of this project for tourism development, which makes the city's Castle more accessible to everyone, was emphasized", says the announcement of the Municipality of Prizren, Telegraph reports.
This project, according to the announcement, is being realized as part of the tripartite agreement signed between the Municipality of Prizren, MMPHI and Swiss-Contact.
The said agreement was signed in January 2023.
The cable car as a tool enables access for all community groups to one of the most visited archaeological sites in Prizren, reports Telegrafi.
In the Law on budget allocations for 2024, it appears that close to 1.7 million euros are planned for the cable car project, in which case close to 200 thousand euros have been spent until 2023, while 500 thousand euros have been approved for 2024 and from 500 thousand euros for the year 2025 and 2026 respectively. /Telegraph/
