After more than a year of investigations, the Special Prosecution Office has made public the indictment in the case of the terrorist attack on the "Ibër Lepenc" channel.

At the center of the evidence that led to the arrest of brothers Jovan and Dragisa Vicentijevic is the expertise of the FBI, which, through forensic analysis of the soil left under the suspects' boots, directly linked their participation in this professionally planned action.

Security analyst Avni Islami, in a statement for Telegrafi, described the Ibër Lepenci canal case as one of the most serious events after the Banjska aggression.

Avni Islami

"It's been a year and a few days since the indictment was finally filed against the three suspects in the terrorist case where the Ibër-Lepenc canal was hit. This act is considered the most serious after Banjska. At the time of the investigation, the FBI's involvement was also warned by the American Embassy."

Islami emphasizes that the indictment shows the direct involvement of one of the defendants, who appears as a member of the Serbian military intelligence service.

According to him, the manner in which the attack was carried out, the professional withdrawal and the attempt to leave no trace, point to an operation planned by Serbian state structures.

"The indictment states that more people participated in the case. This clearly shows that the case was prepared by members of the military intelligence service. The manner of planning and execution speaks of an operation by the Serbian state against Kosovo."

A key element in this investigative process, as Islami said, has been the cooperation between the Special Prosecution Office, Kosovo Police units, forensics, and the American FBI.

"Prosecutor Bekim Kodraliu, who led the case, coordinated all investigative actions while ensuring high professional standards."

According to Islam, the fact that the FBI was involved in collecting and analyzing evidence makes the indictment uncontestable in the international arena.

"The process has gained legal force and credibility. If we relied only on the evidence collected by local institutions, part of the international community could have reacted. Today there is no reaction, because the FBI was part of the investigation and this makes any evidence incontestable," Islami said.

The security analyst emphasized that while the indictment has been filed and the evidence has been presented, the next stage remains the trial.

Islami says that, regardless of the strength of the evidence, it remains the court's duty to make the final decision:

"Let's wait for the final decision. However, the evidence collected - especially that confirmed by the FBI - makes this case extremely strong in legal terms," Islami said, among other things.

Otherwise, the Special Prosecution has filed an indictment against Jovan Vičentijević, Dragisa Vičentijević and Igor Dimović in connection with the terrorist attack with explosives on the 'Ibër Lepenci' canal on 29.11.2024.

According to the Prosecution's indictment, the Viçentijevic brothers are the people who blew up the 'Ibër Lepenci' canal by placing a bag of explosives.

The indictment states that the Special Prosecution Office, in cooperation with the FBI, had managed to find evidence that would lead to the arrest of the Vicentijevic brothers.

According to the file, at the time of their arrest, soil that was in the boots of the arrested at the time was taken for examination and soil samples were taken from the suspects' yard. Soil near the 'Ibër Lepenci' canal was also taken for comparison.

The similarity of the soil, according to the SPRK, proves that the accused were present at the site where the explosion occurred and they were the people who destroyed part of the canal.

But, this finding comes from an international institution, more precisely, the FBI's confirmation that the soil found in the shoes of the accused is the same as the soil that was taken for examination at the site where the Ibër Lepenc canal had burst. /Telegraph/
