Man lost his wedding ring while on vacation, now a fish proudly wears it

A diver managed to find a missing wedding ring worth a thousand dollars, which the groom lost five months ago in Australia, after noticing a piece of jewelry around the fish's neck.

Susie Quintal and her husband, Nathan Reeves, who live on the Gold Coast, visited family on Norfolk Island, about 1,600 kilometers from Sydney, over Christmas.

However, while Reeves was swimming, he suddenly noticed that his ring was missing.

All hope that the ring would ever be found was gone, until this weekend when local resident Susan Prior noticed the missing ring around the fish's body.

Susan said she heard the couple lost their wedding rings earlier this year, after which she managed to find them on Facebook.

However, seeing the fish with a metal object around it, Susan became concerned.

"The metal can only be removed if the fish is caught in the net and gently removed from it," she said.

According to her, the fish looks good for now, but as it grows, the ring will be cut into it.

The locals on the island are now trying to find the fish and remove the ring. /Telegraph/
