The Special Prosecutor's Office has reacted regarding the appearance of the agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in the apartment of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
Through a communiqué for the media, SPAK informs that the investigative actions have been undertaken within the framework of a criminal proceeding against the mayor. However, the prosecuting body appears very reserved, saying it cannot provide detailed information as the case is under investigation.
"The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime informs that several investigative actions have been undertaken within the framework of a criminal proceeding. As the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, we cannot release any further data or information at this time. Thank you for your understanding," said SPAK's announcement.
We remind you that BKH agents went to Veliaj's apartment, where, by court decision, they seized the mobile device of the mayor's wife, Ajola Xoxa, as part of the property investigation initiated by SPAK. /euronews.al/
