Jordan Crooks, a 22-year-old from the Cayman Islands, today became the fastest swimmer of all time, breaking a major record.
Crooks clocked an incredible 20.08 seconds in the 50m freestyle events at the World Championships in Budapest in 25m pools.
In this way, he broke by eight hundredths of a second the world record in the shortest section in swimming, which as of 2020 was owned by the famous American Caeleb Dressel.

Crooks, who hails from a small Caribbean country of just 88,000 people, was awarded $25,000 for the best result ever and he will have the chance to improve on his result in the semi-finals and final and will try to becomes the first swimmer to swim 50 meters under the magical 20-second mark.
It should be added that the world record in 50-meter swimming pools has been held by the Brazilian Cesar Cielo since 2009 and is 20.91 seconds. /Telegraph/
