A truly ugly incident occurred in the Ligue 1 clash between Lyon and Marseille.

A bottle of water thrown from the stands by a fan hit the away team's player, Dimitri Payet.

It's like getting a rock in the face, luckily for the player the bottle that hit him on the left cheek didn't cause him any serious injury.

As reported by Prime Video, the author of the bad gesture was immediately identified by the competent authorities, who arrested him after removing him from the stadium.

While it was hoped that the match would resume from the seventh minute of the meeting, where it was interrupted, such a thing will not happen.

After more than an hour of stoppage on Sunday at the Groupama Stadium, the match officials announced that the match would resume, however the referee changed his mind and decided on the permanent cancellation of the match.
