Two of the injured from the explosion of the gas cylinder in Kciq who are continuing treatment in Intensive Care at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) are dependent on medical equipment, while another patient is conscious, although the injuries are serious.

This is what Shaqir Uka, the head of Intensive Care at KKUK, told KosovaPress, who said that their condition is stable, but that it does not rule out the danger to life, as according to him the injuries are serious.

Uka mentions that all three patients are female, and their ages are 12, 56 and 58 years old. He emphasizes that patients require long and intensive treatment.

"Currently, three of the injured in the explosion of the cylinder in the Mitrovica region are receiving medical treatment in the central intensive care unit. Their general condition currently appears to be stable, despite the fact that the injuries are quite serious... They are wounds that were obtained during the burning by flames, in the facial region of one patient, in the face and extremities of another patient, and in the face and palms of another patient."

The age varies, we have one patient who is 12 years old, another patient who is 56 years old and another who is 58 years old... We cannot say that their condition is out of danger to life, the injuries are quite serious and require long and intensive treatment. Two of them appear to be sedated with drugs and dependent on medical equipment. Meanwhile, another patient is fortunately breathing on her own and is conscious, but the injuries are serious", says Uka.

Meanwhile, through a written response to KosovaPress, the director of the Plastic Surgery Clinic, Violeta Zatriqi, says that the condition of the six patients lying in this clinic is stable.

Zatriqi says that two of the hospitalized, who were German citizens, were transferred there to continue treatment.

"The condition of the patients lying in the Plastic Surgery Clinic is stable, there are six hospitalized patients, two citizens who were from Germany were transferred to where they live. Their treatment continues tomorrow in the operating room", writes Zatriqi.

On Saturday, the Kosovo Police announced that 14 people suffered bodily injuries as a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder in the basement of the house where they were staying in Kciq Madh, South Mitrovica. /kp/
