The drama ends, Salah receives a contract renewal offer from Liverpool

Liverpool have made a first offer to renew the contract of the Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah.

The 32-year-old's current contract expires at the end of this season and, like Virgil Van Dijk, who is also on his way to becoming a free agent, a new contract is on the table and according to several sources close to the club.

This does not mean that a deal is close to being done or has been done, despite the fact that there is growing belief that both players will stay at Anfield.

A permanent solution to this situation will take some time, something that is far from ideal for Liverpool considering that Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold could sign a deal with foreign clubs from January 1.

However, all three have already received proposals from the club and talks between the two parties are continuing.

Earlier this month it was reported that Salah is still waiting for Liverpool to reveal their stance on the length and value of a potential new contract.

Then it was revealed last week that captain Van Dijk has also received an offer, while a proposal was also made in the direction of Alexander-Arnold.
