The development of art in Kosovo and the future perspective of young generations

Shuk Oran
Kosovo, despite all the historical and social challenges it has gone through, has shown an extraordinary development in the field of art and culture. In recent decades, this field has turned into an important engine for the advancement of national identity and for the international affirmation of the country. Art and culture have become a strong bridge that connects the past with the future, giving hope and vision to new generations to move forward on the global stage.
The role of art and culture in shaping new generations cannot be underestimated. Through art, young Kosovans have the opportunity to explore their creativity, challenge social norms and contribute to the international discourse with new and bold ideas. Art is not only a means of personal expression; it is also a way to create connections and influence the global perception of Kosovo.
In this context, the development of art and culture helps young people to embrace diversity and develop their talents in an international arena. This makes them ambassadors of a new and progressive Kosovo, a country that aims to be an important part of the global artistic and cultural dialogue.
As an artist and innovator, I believe that art should not only be a reflection of reality, but a powerful tool to change that reality. Through my projects, as well as the exhibitions I have realized in different countries of the world, I aim to bring innovation and challenge traditional perceptions of art, including technology and interaction in the artistic experience.
I am convinced that Kosovo has a tremendous potential to produce artists and innovators who can be competitive at the international level. In a world that is increasingly connected and dependent on technology, I believe that combining art with technological innovation is the key to advancing to a higher level.
Through my international experiences, I have seen how art and culture not only reflect social developments, but also help create a new mental climate where young people dare to dream bigger and achieve big things. This is why I place particular importance on artistic education and creating spaces where young people can develop their talents and find their unique voice.
The development of art and culture in Kosovo is not only an investment in the present, but an investment in the future of new generations. With the right support, Kosovo can become an important center for art and culture in the region and beyond. Younger generations are key to this success, and art is one of the most powerful tools to guide them towards a future of vision, innovation and international impact.
To illustrate the importance of art and culture in the advancement of a society and its influence on younger generations, history provides us with some powerful examples
During the Italian Renaissance period in the 15th and 16th centuries, art and culture played a tremendous role in shaping a new intellectual and social era. This period was filled with artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael, who not only created great works of art, but also helped change global perceptions of science, technology, and philosophy.
One of the most important aspects of the Renaissance was the involvement of young people in this movement. Young artists were inspired by their mentors and encouraged to experiment with new technologies, such as perspective in painting and the development of scientific ideas through art. This period represents a powerful example of how investment in art and culture can advance a society and significantly influence younger generations, making them part of a global intellectual network.
This example can be directly related to the situation in Kosovo, where young artists have the opportunity to contribute to a cultural "renaissance" and play an active role in representing Kosovo on the international stage, through art and innovation.
Another example is the Harlem Renaissance in the US during the 1920s. This period represented an explosion of creativity among African-American artists, writers, and musicians that helped advance their community's cultural identity and strengthen their position in American and international society. This cultural movement not only brought out new talent in art, music, and literature, but also created a platform for young African Americans to challenge racial stereotypes and present their culture with pride.
Artists like Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, and Duke Ellington not only contributed to this movement, but helped create a new foundation for American art and culture that lasted for decades. Through art, the youth of this period were able to express their identity and have a lasting impact on global culture.
In the context of Kosovo, this example shows how young generations can use art and culture to create a new national identity and promote Kosovo's image in the international arena, just as Harlem artists did for their community.
Both of these historical examples illustrate the transformative power of art and culture to advance new generations and to promote a strong cultural identity on the international stage.
