The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, has stated that the decisions expected to emerge from the NATO Summit being held in Madrid, are hope for the free and democratic world.
In a post on Facebook, Mehaj wrote that the time has come for a new NATO strategic concept.
"Time for a long-term plan in security challenges in the global dimension, as well as the definition and full realization of NATO's political and military tasks", he wrote.
"Time to clearly name the long-term threats to the entire Euro-Atlantic area, where Kosovo and its people naturally are."
Further, he said that the Republic of Kosovo, its institutions, people and army believe in Euro-Atlantic values and its guarantor, NATO.
"The Republic of Kosovo and NATO are naturally united. We walk together for global peace, stability and security. Kosovo needs NATO! Kosovo needs NATO!", concluded Mehaj.
The three-day NATO Summit started on Tuesday, where the Alliance countries have important issues for discussion. At this summit, held in Madrid, Spain, NATO's strategic direction for the next decade is expected to be determined.
Among the topics being discussed are the impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the new security reality in Europe and the consequences of climate change. /Telegrafi/
