​Closing of Serbian parallel municipalities in the north, Islam: Operation in accordance with the Constitution

The closing of the five parallel Serbian municipalities in the north by the expert on security issues, Avni Islami, is being assessed to be in accordance with the implementation of the law and the Constitution of Kosovo.

Professor Avni Islami said that yesterday's police action is in accordance with the law and the Constitution, and that it is a good test for our country and the international community.

While there were international reactions to the closure of parallel Serbian municipalities, Islam estimates that only the international community can escalate the situation in the north, and that according to him "they seem to be interested in ensuring that there is no peace in the north."

"So, yesterday's action, in addition to being in accordance with the law and the constitution, showed that no one prevents the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo from acting in accordance with the law and the Constitution of the country. Escalation of the situation can only be escalated by the international community, because they, it seems, are interested in not having peace in the north of Kosovo, because even before September 24 of last year in the case of Banjska, we had the same situation where even Kosovo was punished with sanctions. Therefore, this time again the international community will fail the exam, because the institutions of the country have the right. This is when it is taken into account that the local Serbs themselves are interested in the establishment of law and order, and the sooner it is possible for them to be part of their own decision-making, the better it is for them and for all those who live in the north of Kosovo and for the Republic of the country", emphasized Islami, for KosovaPress.

Islam emphasized that the state of Kosovo is implementing the law and the Constitution of the country and that the concerns of the international community are artificially raised.

"Yesterday's operation of the security institutions of Kosovo in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government Administration is in the continuation of the implementation of the law and the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo of the previous agreements, where an agreement was signed through Kosovo and Serbia that the parallel illegal structures to be extinguished. And when it is taken into account that the state of Kosovo is implementing the law and the Constitution of the country and such agreements, then all these tensions which some countries of the international community are trying to artificially raise concerns, contradict what was signed and what they said before. Therefore, yesterday was a good test both for the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and for the internationals themselves, because what the internationals said turned out not to be so, because the Serbian citizens of the north of Kosovo and other communities are interested in being citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and to implement the laws of this country', Islami said.

The USA, Great Britain and the European Union have reacted to the action in the north, saying that such actions require careful consultation with Kosovo's staunch friends and security partners./KP/Telegrafi/
