Dellova's brilliance in Kosovo and CSKA Sofia - Rejected offers and the decision to sign with the Bulgarian team: One day I want to play in Serie A or La Liga

Lumbardh Dellova is one of the best grown defenders in Kosovar football, while he has now started his second adventure in Europe.

Dellova left Kosovar football for the first time in 2018 as a 19-year-old to sign for Croatian giants Hajduk Split, but the adventure there was not the best.

After the Hajduku adventure, Dellova was loaned to Prishtina where she excelled and was declared champion of Kosovo. The central defender returned again to Hajduk for six months, before finally coming to Kosovo in the Balkans, being the undisputed leader of Suharekas and achieving extraordinary success with the Conference League trophy and group.

However, this summer Dellova decided to transfer to the Bulgarian giant CSKA Sofia, where he has started to shine even in the elite of Bulgarian football.

In an interview for Telegrafin, the central defender from Krusha e Madhe says that he has been very well received at the new club.

"The reception I received was extremely good. It is about a big team with many fans. The atmosphere in the club is very good and it was easy for me to get used to it," Dellova initially told Telegraf.

CSKA Sofia recently triumphed 0-3 in the local derby against Lokomotiva Sofia after a series of negative results.

"I think the reason for the negative results was the composition of the team as 90 percent from last season has changed. Also, with the change of coach, things have improved even more", says Dellova.

"Acclimatization has not been difficult at all since it is a professional club, where there are also many foreign footballers and this made acclimatization easier".

But the central defender from Rahovec is not the only Kosovar in CSKA Sofia, as the winger Zymer Bytyqi has also been transferred there.

Dellova says that she talked with Bytyq before his arrival in the Bulgarian capital.

"It is very good that Zymeri has transferred. It is better for me, but also for him, that we are two compatriots in the same club and speak Albanian since we have to speak our language as well. Normally, I called him on the phone and told him about the club before he accepted the offer, maybe some of my words influenced him to come to CSKA", says Dellova with a laugh.

The Bulgarian giant paid 350 euros to Balkan for the transfer of Dellova, even though his contract was only valid until December 31.

However, the Dardan defender says that he had many offers, but in the end he decided to choose CSKA. However, he did not mention the names of the clubs, but only the states.

"There were many offers, but now it is not correct to mention the names of the clubs. Anyway, in Romania I had three clubs that had made offers, but also from Poland, Bulgaria, Belgium, Switzerland and an offer from Bundesliga 2. I decided on CSKA as I see it as a springboard for the future".

"One day I want from this team to play in the top European leagues, where my goal is to play in Serie A or La Liga", continues Dellova, who at the very end talks about the club's objectives.

CSKA Sofia has won the title of champion in Bulgaria 31 times, but this trophy has been missing from this club since the distant 2007/08 season.

"Certainly the title is the main objective of the club as it has been missing for a long time. Everyone is talking about it, fans in every corner of the city, players and managers. Great reinforcements have been made and I hope that in the end we will succeed in regaining the champion title", continues Dellova.

The Kosovar representative scored the first goal in his 10th match with the Kosovo shirt a few days ago. He says that the goal with Kosovo was the best feeling in his career, until he was speechless.

"Words cannot describe the joy I had when I scored the goal. I just screamed at the top of my lungs as it was a feeling that still makes me cringe when I remember it. I am very happy that I scored the first goal with Kosovo, but also with the victory achieved", continues the central defender from Dardan.

The 25-year-old says they could have had more points, but according to him it is still possible to top the group in the Nations League.

"Of course we could have done better, but the loss against Romania was accidental. The good thing is that we responded quickly and won against Cyprus".

"Now we have the other games and we have to get the victories in a row, as it is still possible to get the first place. In our group, Kosovo is the strongest team and we must believe to get the maximum number of points".

"Romania is not unstoppable, we also saw it with Lithuania, who only got the victory by luck. Anyway, I wish that we get all the victories and get the first position in the group at the end", continues Dellova, who expects to play more minutes.

"I always expect to play more as I give my best. However, as for me as a Lumbardh, I will always be ready for my country whenever my help is required. If I play 90 minutes, if I have the chance to play just one minute, I will give my last atom for the Kosovo jersey", the Dardan defender concluded the interview for the Telegraph.

Dellova has so far played five matches with CSKA Sofia, where he has become the undisputed leader of the Bulgarian giant. /Telegraph/
