The agreement for the financing of the highway Prishtina - Mitrovica worth 13 million euros is signed

Today, the signing ceremony for the financing of the Pristina - Mitrovica road was held, where the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, the Executive Director of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan A Almarshad as well as the non-resident ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kosovo, Faisal Ghazi Hifzi.

According to a press release, Murati said that with the signing of the said agreement, the remaining part of the financing of the project for the construction and rehabilitation of the Pristina-Mitrovica road is completed.

Minister Murati emphasized the commitment of the Government to deepen relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards investments in the infrastructure sector and other sectors important for the economic development of the country.


For his part, Minister Aliu indicated that this project aims to modernize the road and is in line with the work and priorities of the Government, which always aim to improve the lives of citizens. Minister Aliu also emphasized that this project is the first infrastructural project in Kosovo that is supported by the Saudi Development Fund and that it is intended that after this project, the partnership will deepen even further.

Meanwhile, director Almarshad mentioned the continuous cooperation with the Government of Kosovo, stressing that the project for the financing of the highway "Prishtina - Mitrovica" envisages the expansion and rehabilitation of the national road, thus reducing the traffic.

The Director thanked the Government for the welcome, mentioning once again the role of the project for the economic development of the country. /Telegraph/
