Ukrainians publish photo: Russians use Elon Musk's Starlink - we intercepted the conversation between Kremlin soldiers

Ukraine said today that Russian forces in the occupied territories are using the terminals of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service, releasing what it claims is a wiretapping of an exchange between two Russian soldiers as evidence of its "systematic" use.

Starlink systems were vital for Ukrainian battlefield communications during the nearly two-year Russian occupation, as Kiev faced a larger and better-equipped army, the Telegraph reports.

The General Directorate for Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense has published an audio recording on Telegram, which it says is of a conversation between the forces of the Russian 83rd Brigade about the establishment of a terminal in eastern Ukraine.

The administration did not provide details on the alleged purpose of use or how the terminals were acquired.

Spokesman Andriy Yusov told Ukrainian media on Saturday that the issue "has begun to take on a systemic nature."

SpaceX, which operates the Starlink terminals, said in a statement to X last week that it "does not do business with the Russian government or its military in any way," and that its service is not active in Russia. /Telegraph/
