The Ministry of Economy compensates the Kosovo Post with 1.1 million euros

The Ministry of Economy (ME) has for the first time compensated the Kosovo Post with the amount of 1.1 million euros (€1,168,932) for the Universal Postal Service (UPS) for the year 2023.

The citizens of the country benefit from this service, as regardless of whether they send a letter from Prishtina to Fushë-Kosovo, or from Leposaviqi to Dragash, the Post of Kosovo offers the service at the same basic, affordable price for all citizens.

"For this, Law No. 06/L-038, Article 10, provides for compensation to cover the higher cost of service for more remote areas, but the Post of Kosovo has never received the deserved compensation, as a result of the lack of by-laws of competent institutions and human capacities in the enterprise itself", the announcement of the Ministry of Economy states.

In this regard, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli has emphasized that today this injustice is being addressed for the first time and the payment of SHUP by the Government of Kosovo will help the Kosovo Post to improve the operation of the company and the necessary investments that have been missing with decade./Telegraph/
