The directorate for the protection of cultural heritage and the national institution Conservation Center-Skopje as competent institutions, among others, cooperate on activities related to the conservation and development of cultural heritage. In accordance with the Law on the declaration of the Old Bazaar of Skopje as cultural heritage of special importance, Article 9, the National Institution - Conservation Center-Skopje is responsible for taking protection-conservation measures for each activity in the Old Bazaar of Skopje . The Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage gives approval based on the conservation conditions previously given by the national institution Conservation Center-Skopje as part of the technical documentation.
In accordance with the reports received from the IN Conservation Center - Skopje, as a competent institution under the Minister of Culture, as well as the DMTK, in this specific case all procedures established by law for the declaration of the Old Bazaar of Skopje as cultural heritage of special importance are maintained.
