Two proposed laws submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, which have been stuck in the Assembly for two years now, react from the MBPEU and call on the MPs to adopt the legal solutions as soon as possible in the interests of farmers.

MBPEU clarify that the amendments to the Law on the establishment of the Agency for financial support in agriculture and rural development, enable new powers and competences to the Agency in terms of the establishment, maintenance and management of bases and registers, necessary for the implementation of measures for agriculture and rural development. This, however, is foreseen in the Law on agriculture and rural development, as well as undertaking the procedure for registration, deletion and change of agricultural economies in the single Register of agricultural economies.

MBPEU says that the technical implementation of these changes is done through a project financed by the European Union. "For almost two years now, these legal solutions have been stuck in the Assembly, while completely, for incomprehensible reasons, the chairman of the Assembly Committee for Agriculture does not schedule a meeting of the parent committee where these two proposed legal changes should be examined, the Ministry emphasizes, adding that, also, the proposal of the Law on amending and supplementing the Law on agricultural land, which harmonizes with the Law on urban planning, has been blocked.

From there, they call on the chairman and the members of the Commission for Agriculture, but also on all the deputies in the Assembly, to place, as they say, the voice of the farmers at the top of their priorities and to approve the laws that improve and help their work.

"There is no place for politics in agriculture, nor will we allow it to be. Political games must not be to the detriment of the country's farmers. We are facing a serious crisis, where there is no room for blockade and pressure, only together and uniquely we can get out of this crisis, get out with smaller consequences for the farmers of the country, and with that also for all the citizens of the country" , emphasize from MBPEU.
